I shall construct the heat kernel for a subelliptic Laplacian on spheres in odd dimensional Euclidean spaces. The formula is given in geometric terms. The important point is that the derivation is very similar to the derivation of elliptic heat kernels. It would be interesting to derive this via a path integral calculation.
