First I explain the geography of complex surfaces and one of symplectic \(4\)-manifolds and consider the relationship between them.　

As the main results in this talk, I present the geography of Lefschetz fibrations/pencils, which are the important object when we study the topology of symplectic \(4\)-manifolds.
